When it comes to Villa Regina Teodolinda wedding photography, Harriet and Joe’s wedding was everything I love about intimate celebrations. With just 50 of their favourite people gathered on the shores of Lake Como, the day felt relaxed, personal and completely centred around spending time together.
Beautifully planned by Tre Stelle Weddings, every part of the day flowed effortlessly without ever feeling overly formal. There was a real sense of calm from the morning preparations right through to the evening celebrations, allowing everyone to enjoy the incredible setting and each other’s company.
From the beginning…
Harriet and Joe chose to hold their ceremony overlooking Lake Como, and it’s hard to imagine a more beautiful place to exchange vows. Villa Regina Teodolinda has a timeless elegance that doesn’t need much styling. The gardens, lake views and historic villa speak for themselves, making it one of my favourite venues for destination weddings in Italy.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds stepped aboard a classic speed boat for a short trip across the lake. It’s one of my favourite parts of a Lake Como wedding, not only because the scenery is spectacular, but because it gives couples a chance to spend a few quiet moments together before returning to the celebrations. The afternoon light, the surrounding mountains and the iconic villas created the perfect backdrop for portraits that felt effortless and natural.
Back at Villa Regina Teodolinda, guests enjoyed drinks in the gardens before sitting down for dinner overlooking the lake. The speeches were one of the highlights of the day, filled with thoughtful stories, plenty of laughter and a few emotional moments that reflected just how close Harriet and Joe are to their family and friends. With only 50 guests, every conversation felt meaningful, and there was such a lovely atmosphere throughout the evening.
As a photographer, smaller weddings like this always allow for a more documentary approach. There’s time to notice the little interactions that often become favourite memories later on—a smile exchanged across the table, parents watching quietly during the speeches or friends catching up over a glass of wine. Those are the moments that tell the story of the day just as much as the portraits.
