Luxury wedding in the Lake District
There are weddings you photograph… and then there are weddings you feel. Faye and Nico’s luxury wedding at Lodore Falls was one of those days that stays with you long after you’ve packed up your gear. From the very first moment, I knew this was going to be something special…
From the beginning…
The outdoor ceremony was emotional in the best way—raw, heartfelt, and totally honest. Faye walked down the aisle and the look on Nico’s face? Pure love. He tried to stay composed, but you could see it all over him! The guests were all locked in, and as their vows filled the air, I found myself getting caught up in it too. I was photographing through misty eyes more than once!
Once the confetti settled and the hugs had been shared, I stole Faye and Nico away for a little escape to Surprise View. Now, if you’ve never been, it’s one of the most incredible lookouts over Derwentwater and the fells. The light was unreal—that perfect soft golden hour that photographers dream of. Faye’s dress caught the breeze just so, and the chemistry between the two of them was effortless. They laughed, held each other, and just took it all in. Those quiet moments up there ended up being some of my favourite frames of the entire day.
Back at the venue, things shifted gear in the best way. The reception was electric. The ballroom at Lodore was dressed to absolute perfection—florals, soft candlelight, and elegant touches that felt luxury without being over-the-top. There was a real buzz in the room, and when Faye and Nico made their entrance, the place erupted.
First dance? Smooth. Emotional speeches? Check. But once the formalities were out of the way, that dance floor turned into a full-on celebration. The band brought serious energy, and everyone—from flower girls to grandparents—hit the floor. I caught moments of pure joy: shoes kicked off, hands in the air, Nico spinning Faye under fairy lights like they were the only two people in the world.
What I loved most was how real it all felt. Yes, it was luxury. Yes, it was stunning. But more than anything, it was full of heart.
Faye and Nico didn’t just have a wedding—they had an experience. And as their photographer, getting to tell that story through my lens was an absolute privilege.
